Find scholarships that match your circumstances

A useful scholarship search starts with eligibility. Funding that is open internationally can still have restrictions on residence, previous degrees, subject or host institution.

Build an eligibility profile

Privately note your citizenship, country of residence, highest qualification, intended level, subject and planned start date. Do not publish sensitive personal circumstances in a public group. Where a programme considers displacement or risk, use its official application channel.

Search three layers

Look at the chosen university’s funding page, the national scholarship agency and relevant European programmes. Erasmus Mundus is a route to joint Master’s programmes; research funding often requires a different application and a host. A funding database helps discover schemes but its presence does not prove an application is open.

Read what is paid

Separate tuition support, living allowance, travel, insurance and research costs. Check duration, payment timing, renewal conditions and whether other awards can be combined. A tuition waiver may leave a substantial living-cost gap.

For each promising scheme, write a short eligibility conclusion: eligible on the published information, clearly ineligible, or a specific question remains. Apply only after resolving conditions that could invalidate the application. Keep admission and funding deadlines separately.
