The NL Scholarship is intended for international students from outside the European Economic Area applying to participating Dutch institutions. The official page lists an award of €5,000 in the first year. It does not cover tuition fees in full.

Who it is for

Bachelor’s and master’s applicants from outside the EEA, including Belarusian applicants who also meet institutional requirements.

Next step

Choose a participating institution and check its programme requirements and its individual deadline, because competitions are run by the institutions.

Important limitations

Non-EEA nationality is only one criterion. You must also meet the institution’s requirements and must not already hold a degree from an educational institution in the Netherlands. At verification the official page referred to the 2026/27 intake; the 2027/28 intake, its deadlines and its participating institutions were not confirmed and should not be inferred from the previous year.

Status

Programme reference. There is no universal “applications open” status for this scholarship. See also Does a full scholarship cover every cost?.
