Applications

Plan your university application

Treat each programme as a separate application with its own document list and submission rules.

Treat each programme as a separate application with its own document list and submission rules.

Make a requirements sheet

Copy the official requirements into a private task list. Give each document an owner, preparation time and deadline. Distinguish an upload deadline from a deadline for certified paper copies, payment or references. If the call lists a time zone, retain it exactly.

Start slow tasks first

Qualifications assessment, translations, language exams and references can depend on other people. Ask what is accepted before ordering a service. If obtaining a document could expose you or another person to risk, ask the institution about alternatives through a private channel.

Follow the correct route

Some programmes take applications directly; others use an assessment service or a central portal. Completing one stage does not necessarily submit the final university application. Follow the university’s instructions through to the final confirmation.

Submit a complete version

Open every uploaded file and check readability, names and dates. Keep the submitted version and confirmation. A saved draft is not a submitted application. Monitor the official portal and your email, including spam, for requests for corrections. Ask about an extension before a deadline if needed; never assume it will be granted.

Your checklist

  • Required stages identified
  • Document preparation started
  • All files opened and checked
  • Submission receipt retained
