Find a PhD and check its funding
Search for both doctoral admission and the money that supports it. They can be part of one offer or two separate decisions.

Search for both doctoral admission and the money that supports it. They can be part of one offer or two separate decisions.
Identify the route
A funded vacancy usually advertises a project, supervisor, conditions and deadline. A structured programme may recruit a cohort. An individual doctorate may require finding a supervisor and arranging funding separately. Compare these routes against your preparation and preferred way of working.
Search official sources
Use EURAXESS and research-institution websites, then read the full employer or graduate-school announcement. For MSCA Doctoral Networks, individuals apply to vacancies in funded projects rather than to the institutional network-funding call.
Read the financial conditions
Ask whether support is an employment contract, fellowship or tuition waiver. Check duration, any teaching duties, tuition or mandatory fees, insurance and whether the stated amount is gross or net. Do not assume a position described as “funded” covers dependants or relocation.
Check academic eligibility
Look for the required qualification, subject background, research experience and mobility restrictions. If the degree was earned in Belarus or your studies were interrupted, ask about assessment of your documents early. Choose the application route only when the supervisor, institution and funding responsibilities are clear.
