Plan an Erasmus+ study exchange through your university

Erasmus+ study mobility normally starts with your current university. It is a temporary period abroad within a degree, with academic recognition agreed between the participating institutions. It is different from applying to a complete Erasmus Mundus Joint Master.

Start with your international office

Ask whether your institution has a study exchange route for your programme, which partner universities are available and whether you can be nominated. There is no single central student application for all Erasmus+ study exchanges. Your institution sets its selection process and local deadlines. Belarusian nationality alone does not establish access: your enrolment, institutional arrangements and the specific mobility project matter.

Agree the academic plan

Check the host's course list and teaching language. Work with both institutions on a learning agreement that identifies the study you will complete and how it will count toward your qualification. Resolve timetable and recognition questions before committing to travel. Ask who can approve changes after arrival.

Separate the grant from the total budget

A mobility grant contributes to travel and living expenses. Do not assume it covers every cost or that an exchange place automatically confirms an award. Ask your university for the amount, payment schedule, applicable additional support and any conditions for repayment. Build a budget that includes the period before the first payment.
